can i move data from 20gb to 120gb drive using a broken xbox with 3 lights of death?
i have 2 xbox 360s, one of them has the 3 lights of death so i upgraded to the elite console. can i use the broken one to move my game saves to my elites hard drive?
If the broken one allows you then yes. Usually when the red ring of death appears you can’t even turn it on so you can’t access the hard drive. If you can’t which I believe is the situation just get one of those memory cards for the Xbox 360 and use it to piggy back your data to the other drive. This would take some time because you would have to put in the old hard drive on the good xbox and then use the memory card and save as much data as you possible can to it. Then put the new hard drive into the good xbox and save all the data from the memory card to the 120gb hard drive. You would need to do this process over and over again until all memory has been successfully transferred.

Well, don’t worry too much, it’s kind of hard to get the red ring.
1 – you get it if your xbox over heats, so don’t play for like 8 hours at a time. dont feel limited to playing only a short amount of time for each sitting. just dont play day in and day out for so many hours.
2 – try to get a cooling fan, if youre really determined to care for your xbxo, there are cooling accessories for the xbox 360.
3 – dont leave your xbox on for long, if youre leaving for more than 10 minutes, shut it off.
4 – keep the xbox in a cool area.
